Steamed cake in Banana Leaf (Ela Yappam)

Ingredients


Rice Flour – 2 cups
Water – 2 cups
Coconut grated – 1 ½ cup
Banana cut and diced – 1 big
Jaggery grated – ½ cup
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Salt to taste

Method


Boil water and salt. Once the water boils, pour the liquid in the rice four and make thick dough out of it while the mixture is still hot. Mix coconut, banana, jaggery, and cardamom powder. Take equal portions of it. Heat the Banana leaf, cut into equal portions. Dip your hand in the water and roll out the dough into the banana leaf. Put the divided coconut mixture in the centre and fold the banana leaf into half. Do the same thing to the rest of the dough and coconut mixture. Steam the banana leaves in cooker. After the cooker cools, take the Steamed cake in banana leaf out and serve hot.
