Ingredients
Cleaned Prawns – 500 gm
Onion cut into small pieces – 1 big
Green chilli cut into small pieces – 3 small
Coconut – 1 full coconut
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 3 tsp
Water – 1 ½ cup
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
Method
Mix and marinate the prawn pieces with turmeric and
salt. Marinade for an hour. Heat oil in a pan, add in the marinated prawns and
fry them till it gets done. In the pan, put some oil and fry onions and green
chilli till it turns golden brown. Add red chilli powder and mix well. Add
prawns and sauté well. Mix the grated coconut with water in a mixer/ grinder
and take the thick and thin milk out of it. Pour the thin coconut milk into the
pan and let it simmer & get cooked till done. When the gravy thickens &
on seeing that the prawns and the gravy are well mixed & in the right
consistency, do add in the thick coconut milk. Just let it to simmer and don’t
cook for too long. Take out from flame and serve with chapatti or rice.
