Mutton – 500 gm
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – ¾ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Small onion –
1 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Potato – 1 big
Coriander leaves/ Mint leaves for garnishing
Water – ½ a cup
Salt to taste
Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Cream or coconut milk - optional
Method
Into a bowl marinate the mutton with ½ turmeric powder, ½ red chilli
powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ginger garlic paste for half an hour. In a
cooker, add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and when it starts to splutter add
the small onions till the onions turn transparent. Add in the marinated mutton
and the potato pieces and the rest of all the masala powder and salt. Mix well.
Add half a cup of water, close the cooker and cook the mutton till done. When
done add the coriander leaves or the mint leaves for garnishing. If required
you can even add cream or coconut milk to the cooked mutton to enhance the
taste.
